Blackout protection
Backup circuits keep running through an outage. What stays on depends on how the backup is wired, we scope that at the site visit.
FoxESS is the battery we fit most often on retrofits, because it AC-couples to almost any existing solar system without replacing the inverter you already paid for.

App monitoring of generation, consumption and battery state, so you can see whether it is behaving as modelled.
Retrofits to an existing system. DC-coupled is marginally more efficient but usually means replacing your inverter.
[Confirm the current manufacturer warranty term and what it covers, years, throughput and retained capacity.]
Our current retrofit pricing is on the Battery Storage packages page, by capacity tier, inverter size and phase. The price you pay depends on your existing system and switchboard, confirmed at the site assessment.
Usually yes, that is what AC-coupled means. It works alongside your current inverter rather than replacing it, so most systems can be retrofitted regardless of who installed them.
Backup capability is available, but it has to be wired for it and it typically powers selected circuits rather than the whole house. Ask us what yours would cover before you assume it.
DC-coupled stores power before it is converted, so it loses slightly less energy, but it generally requires a hybrid inverter, meaning a new inverter. AC-coupled converts twice but retrofits to what you already have. On an existing system the retrofit almost always wins.
The system is modular, so additional capacity can generally be added. Confirm the current expansion limits with us before you buy if that is part of your plan.
